No distinction is made between the two main protestant confessions, the Lutheran and the Reformed (Calvinists), although both had built separate churches in Braila. The Lutherans were predominantly Germans and the Calvinists Hungarians. Orthodox Christians were, apart from the Romanians, also Greeks, Bulgarians, and a large percentage of the Ottoman subjects
