The Varna Chamber of Commerce and Industry was founded in 1894 (being one of the four Chambers in the Country) and had the entire Eastern Bulgaria (i.e. the Western Black Sea coast) under its jurisdiction until 1907, when a separate Chamber was founded in Burgas, covering the South-eastern part of the country.[1]

The grain-merchants of Varna active in the purchase of grain reaching Varna in railway wagons proceeded in 1902 in the signing of an “Agreement”, by which a Grain Merchant Corporation was founded. This was the first step towards the establishment of Varna’s Grain Exchange, realised four years later (in 1906). [2]
